With maturity comes common sense...
No gardening today, because it's raining again. I love the rain, but I'm not going outside to garden in it. With maturity comes common sense, and patience (that's the theory anyway). My garden and I can both wait.
Here are some photographs of what's going on at the moment out there. It's almost autumn, a time when I notice the leaf colours and forms much more. Then, of course, there are the later flowering roses and other flowers to enjoy. I'm impressed with Blush Noisette - I rescued two of these roses from the Shrubbery only a couple of years ago, and now they are now blooming beautifully in the sunny spaces of the Hump Garden. Their flowering seasons are later than most of the others.
And just for the record, I cleaned up the wee front patio garden yesterday. Pieces of nasty creepy grass were happily creeping through it, and a rose and a wee striped Phormium were completely smothered. They're in pots. The grass is hopefully out.
