A minimalist?

In the sun. Yeay for the sun!
The Active Rose

Yeay! The sun and I are both back in the garden, after several wet grey days. Should I let my gardening time be fluid, or should I get all serious and write a list? Hmm... A maxi-list? A minimal-list?

Thursday 5th March

Over-pondering these deep questions could lead to time-wasting, yes? So I'll start my day by being weather wise, and organise a stash of firewood and kindling by the back door. Put the wood where it's easy to get at.

Did get rather caught out during the recent short cold, wet snap. It was only three days, felt like forever.

A minimalist...

Oh alright. A minimalist (hee hee) - key words only, leaving plenty of room for random interpretation.

  1. Dahlias
  2. Compost
  3. Bonfire
  4. Phormiums

Yeay! Let's see if this works...

Five hours later...

It sure did! Unfettered by details, I pottered around happily and lightly touched every topic on the list. I planted my new dahlias. I dug out and replanted the ones buried underneath the Pink Perfection flowering cherry. I spread all the compost on the Island Bed. I took loads of dry mess to the bonfire, and carefully balanced armfuls of dried Phormiums on the top. I even swept gum leaves off the house decking and then burnt everything.

 With petals like flames.

So writing a 'minimalist' really does work. Pins the noun on the gardening brain's notice board (?) while leaving lots of room for free expression. Hee hee.
