My Plan for Personal Contentment
Right. My Plan for Personal Contentment. A lot of gloomy stuff is swirling around out there. Time to strengthen my world, fill my days with positive, loving, creative and imaginative things, always allowing time for the things I love doing.
Time to stop letting annoying people annoy me. Had a bit of a day of it yesterday. One friend was oh so gloomy and negative about everything. She hated Phormiums - weren't they dreadful, boring, messy plants? No! Later, another friend, a big-talking anti-vaxxer, started defending and justifying her stance. Had to ask her to change the subject. Wonder why why I like my dogs and cats and my garden so much? Hmm...
Winnie and Fred
Anyway, I'm officially over yesterday. No more analysis needs to take place. It's done and dusted. Have played Bach with my flute friend who (like me) loves New Zealand Phormiums and is double-vaxed. Played Albeniz on my beautiful piano when I returned home. Hello, F-Sharp minor - sorry I keep on forgetting your D naturals.
Pink Campion in the Rose Garden
Have done some jolly good weeding in the Frisbee Lawn Border, followed around by Lilli-Puss. Am about to shift the hoses and take my cup of tea out to the Hump Garden to peer closely at the masses of pink Campion flowers. Need to exert control and pull these rather weedy plants out. I can hear roses crying out from the undergrowth 'Help! Help!'...
Westerland Rose
Much Later...
Am letting the pink flowers stay for another week or so. It's such a pretty look! Finished weeding in the garden near the dog kennels. Not the most pleasant location (it's the dogs' toilet), but pulling out the weeds was oddly satisfying - they were large and easily removed. Now the stone edge of the garden is now clearly visible, so the mower can follow the curve of the lawn safely.
What a difference - I feel so much better today. Positively affirmed, content, and very proud of myself. Must keep negative people at a distance. Beam and nod at them, while thinking about my lovely garden.
