My green garden...
Good morning to my green garden. My goodness - there's no rain, no drizzle, not even any random spitting. No wind, and no time constraints. I could move mountains! More likely move mess from the paths behind the cottage...
Looking Across the Pond
Have been feeding a second stray cat, Ginger Foxie, for three weeks now - he arrives on the cottage verandah every evening, usually at dusk. I'm sure he watches me going over to the cottage, but he won't show himself.
Behind the Cottage
See what happens...
So I'll potter about the cottage quietly, clatter the food bowl on the verandah, see what happens. Probably nothing cat-wise, but my garden will get very nicely tidied up.
Later...
Did two sessions, each lasting two hours - one behind the cottage, one behind the pond. Very happy, surrounded by all the greenery. And yes - a cat did keep an eye on me from the ram paddock - but it was only black Buster.

More enjoyable work around the pond today. I swept the pond decking and chopped down rogue Gleditsia seedlings. Raked up gum leaves. Barrowed out a load of firewood logs. Then switched location to behind the cottage, cleaned out the little pond, and made a start 'repairing' the path which encircles it. A huge amount of gum tree debris has fallen over the years and is buried in the greenery. So how long since I last cleared in here? Oops. I checked my journal. 2017. Eight years.
Tuesday 14th January
Last night both stray cats came for their meals while Minimus the cottage cat lurked (and maybe sulked) outside nearby. Ginger Foxie then wandered off around the pond path. Being bright ginger he is easily spotted. For the record I've been properly feeding Foxie (as opposed to him pinching Speckles' food) for one month. Early days.
First I'm off to take greenery photographs, then I'm going for a swim. Later today I will uncover the little arched wooden bridge (it's smothered in Lamium), then run a hose from there and see if the little pond will fill with water.
Much later...
Wonderful! Cleared the path as far as the little bridge. Took out five barrowfuls of debris, made about five meters progress. Easy maths, but what a mess! Haven't tried filling the little pond yet.
