Gardening Articles 2013

The Moosey cats, the dog, and the Head Gardener (me) are all looking forward to an exciting, busy gardening year. Writing about the garden is always fun, even if the topics are somewhat repetitive. Calm, sleepy mornings by the pond should quicken up slowly, if you know what I mean. But sometimes the morning has a tempo of its own. And ponds surrounded by garden gnomes sometimes have their own unique 'wake-up call'.

It's going to be a funny sort of day. A film crew is here to do some filming (as film crews do) for Mr (Ms?) Google. I'm wearing my favourite blue gardening shirt, and I've brushed my hair. And guess what? It's raining cats and dogs outside. So I am about to be filmed typing up my journal...
2013 Earthquake Anniversary2013 Earthquake Anniversary...
February 22nd was the anniversary of the big Christchurch earthquake. The plan was to have my minute's silence by the tree I'd held onto at that sad time. (I was deep in the depths of my garden). I'd never forget that comforting hug. Thank you, tree!
New YearNew Year's Honours for 2013...
Each year I give out my own honours for services to the Moosey Garden. And each year the awards are somewhat predictable - Non-Gardening Partner is usually made a Companion of the Order of Merit, and so on. Enough! This year it's knighthoods and damehoods...
