Brave gardener...
Hello Tuesday. Both pairs of my rough-tough winter gardening pants are in the wash, so I will have to be a brave gardener and wear my shorts. Eek! Might make me work a little faster?

Winter Gardener in Shorts
To continue the clothing theme, earlier this morning I went to the op-shop (after swimming), where I bought a blue apres-gardening woolly jersey, a ridiculous navy blue sequined number (for when I play in my blues band), and a little girlie saffron yellow skirt (for when I sing with my vocal group the Saffron Sisters). Am very excited with my purchases. Hee hee.

New Black hens
Four hours later...
Have spent the afternoon in the Henhouse Garden - clearing a path, pulling up and dividing Renga Renga, digging out a misplaced Phormium, raking and raking and raking up mess, and so on. Welcomed two new black hens (hen statues, that is) into Henworld, which is remarkably weed free.
Finished my day enjoying the spiritual connection of woman with fire - first the outside bonfire, which was very flamy and warmed me up. Then the log-burner inside, me smart and snug in my new apres-gardening gear. Blessed is she who spends a lot of her summer time preparing firewood for winter, yes?
Wednesday July 22nd
Have just remembered that it is Non-Gardening Partner's birthday today. Phew. That was close! Happy Birthday NGP.

Pink Azalea Flowering Now
Oh my goodness! On our first dog walk, thinking about nothing, noticed pink flowers in the Island Bed. The big Azalea shrub is blooming, and there are just a few blooms on the big house Camellia.

Pink Camellia by the House
Yeay for pink, a colour of new growth, a delicate garden signal towards spring. Soon - not just yet, but soon - spring will be here.
Much later...
It's been one of my music days (busy with rehearsals) but I managed just over an hour's gardening, late afternoon, successfully clearing most of the mess out of Henworld and burning it on the bonfire. Took some new photographs of my hens and roosters. Wore my shorts again.
Have bought NGP a birthday pizza, some donuts, and some Whitakers creamy chocolate. Yeay!
