Bird blessed!

Am so enjoying the autumn feeling in my garden. It's so mellow, with lots of bird company - fantails squeaking and swooping over me, bell-birds overhead whistling and tooting. My tame blackbird always checks me out when I'm weeding and digging. I am bird-blessed.

 Beautiful bird.
Hello Fantail!

Yet another great day spent visiting family, having so much fun playing with my smallest friend, then back home and a valiant attempt to finish my jigsaw (because I have another, bigger one which I want to start).

Did three good hours weeding and trimming the back lawn gardens. There's a sense of peace in autumn. When the seasons slow down I can slow down too? Yes please...

More burning...

Then, just when I was running out of puff, Non-Gardening Partner arrived with yet another trailer-load of mess to burn. So I did just that. It's the garden clean-up equivalent of not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Several bellbirds arrived and made lots of bird noise - the cracking of the fire is similar to their percussive 'tsk' and 'chtz' sounds. They probably thought they were warning off intruders.

My 'Far Too Late To Do' List...

Finished my day enjoying a bowl of chocolate ice-cream while cycling around the coast of Brittany (thanks again to Youtube). Amazing scenery, beautiful roads and tracks - another thing I wish I'd done in my earlier real life. Have added it to my 'Far Too Late To Do List', along with hiking in Norway, going on Swiss trains, and canoeing Arctic rivers. The list gets longer every month - funny that!

Update on my stray cats...

Ha! Foxie, my new stray cat, IS coming for food. We stared at each other last night in the moonlight, while Speckles (who I've been feeding for nearly four years) sat on the doormat at my feet and growled quietly. Minimus the proper resident cottage cat, on the bed, couldn't be bothered investigating./p>

Foxie has THE most beautiful cat-face. I really need to get a little more up-close and personal with this new cat, though. Hmm...
