Environmental organisations have devised various certifications to help you choose environmentally sustainable wooden garden furniture, structures and materials.

Forest Steward Council
The FSC are an international not-for-profit organisation promoting good forest management. They run the most widely recognised certification scheme. Look for their certification on wood, and on producers information.
