This month's features
1. Spring Surprises for 2011
I love the early spring surprises that my garden gives me. It happens every year, too...
2. August Snow
Eek! One of the deepest snowfalls I've experienced in my garden - and three weeks after the last one, too. Poor garden!
3. Michelangelo Rose
I've solved the problem of the rose called Michelangelo - there are actually two of them. Meet the New Zealand version.
4. Cut That Conifer Down!
The most exciting thing that's happened to my garden this month? A misshaped conifer has been cut totally down.

6. Plant of the Month : Pink Azalea
This beautiful Azalea has been hidden by a large Choisya ternata for far too many years. Phew! Liberation, finally...
7. Animal of the Month : Rusty the Dog
I've always claimed that Rusty the dog loves gardening, without actually ever bothering to ask him. He deserves this award for being so patient with me!
8. Garden Quote : Pittosporums
These delightfully textured evergreen tree-shrubs self seed throughout my garden. Hmm...
9. Garden Gallery : B***** and H***** Rose
This gorgeous rose was named in the dark ages when cigarette companies were allowed to advertise themselves everywhere. This is a real pity, because the rose itself is such a golden beauty. And you've no doubt guessed its name...
10. Forum Focus : Busy Gardeners
Well, some of us (oops - I think I mean me) seem to be busy doing everything except posting in the forum. But we still enjoy catching up and showing off our gardens. Pop in and meet some other busy gardeners.
11. Gardening Advice : Island Beds
Again I must remember to take my own advice when tending my own Island Bed.
12. Searching for Moosey : cats
- winter cat pictures
- This month I've taken quite a number of photographs of my cats. You can choose which you like the best - young Minimus showing her spotty tummy, or Percy lurking in the paddock.
13. Coming up this month : My Birthday, Spring, and the Rugby World Cup.
So which one of these am I looking forward to the most? You might be surprised with my answer. Enjoy September whole-heartedly, and get some good gardening done!
Cheers,
