Maple Trees
One of the best things I've done (or tried to do) as a gardener is to introduce small ornamental Maples into my garden. Three have been planted in the Septic Tank Garden, and at the time of writing two are still growing well.

The one in this above photograph came to me as a seedling grown by a gardening friend, and has been very slow to grow. At the moment it has the status of a teenager in the tree-world.
I planted a larger Maple very early on by the fence line. It lights up the autumn sky with its beautiful colours (see below).
