Garden Border Pictures
The borders contain too many plants to mention all by name. For me the spikey plants always stand out, and I enjoy the repetition of flaxes, astelias and tussocks throughout the longer borders. In my garden the borders are interesting in all seasons, as our winters are reasonably mild. All borders are edged with river stones, and surrounded by lawns.

Roses...
- Apricot roses flirt with grasses and New Zealand Phormiums in the mixed border called the Glass-House Garden.
-
Shrubs in the Garden...
- A dark Phormium in a blue pot sits underneath a flowering rhododendron shrub and a lime green Spiraea. What a pretty picture!
-
Rambling Pink Rose...
- My beautiful pink woodshed rambling rose is much photographed - and admired. The rose is unknown.
-
Late Spring Garden Border...
- The garden borders which edge the Pond Paddock are full of grasses, phormiums, and beautiful flowering shrubs. This is a late spring photograph, when the deep pink rhododendrons are in bloom.

The Hen House Garden in Autumn...
- The scarlet Oak trees are in their fiery autumn colours, while the dark green New Zealand Phormium by the path looks gorgeous all the year round.
-
Gunnera in the Garden...
- Giant perennial Gunnera grows in the stream which runs through the back lawn gardens. The Moosey glass-house is in the rosy distance.
-
House in the Trees...
- The Moosey House is two stories high - it sits surrounded by lawns and gardens full of roses, trees and shrubs.
-
Gum Tree in the Lawn...
- The big gum tree sits in the middle of the house lawn - a strong specimen with a rather messy leaf-dropping habit!
-
House Patio Gardens...
- Rusty the Moosey dog sits waiting by the house patio gardens. You might just see a cat hiding behind one of the pots.
-
Flaxes by the Water...
- In early autumn the colours in the garden borders over the water race seem deeper and more vibrant than ever. Favourite New Zealand flaxes are beautiful beside the rippling water.
-
Naked Rose Arch...
- This rose arch is naked surrounded by lavenders, a deutzia and a daphne bush. There is a flowering azalea in the background

Lavender Seat...
- This is a place to relax in the morning sun, surrounded by lavender and herbs.
