Flower Picture Gallery

Flowers are important to gardeners, and we all have our favourite annuals, perennials and flowering shrubs. Sometimes we choose a shrub of plant solely because of the colour or style of its flowers, and can be terribly disappointed with their transient nature. But would we want our plants to flower for ever? The photographs in the Gallery are a mixture of small and big, tidy and messy flowers.

Gazanias...: These Gazanias were grown from seed, and I'm thrilled by the variety of flower colours. They've been planted in a very sunny spot.
Blue Aquilegia...: This beautiful photograph of a blue aquilegia in flower was taken by my Son-In-Law. He's a professional - check out that groovy focus!
Pink Peony...: This is one of my favourite peony photographs. Unfortunately I can't name the variety, but I can tell you that it's pink, and extremely beautiful...
Blue Iris...: Wedgwood blue irises bloom beautifully in the Moosey Garden throughout late spring. Blue is my very favourite colour - check out all my gardening shirts!
Cream Rhododendron Flower...: Many of the rhododendrons in the Moosey spring garden are nameless - like this beautiful cream one. The flower design just couldn't be bettered.
Yellow Calendula...: Yellow Calendulas are humble annuals guaranteed to brighten up a gardener's day. They love growing in a potager or vegetable garden.
Unknown Lily...: I don't what to say about this lily - even if it's an Asiatic or an Oriental. My local nursery lady threw it in with a trailer load of bargain bin scruffs I was taking home. A gardening friend thinks it could possibly be called Stargazer...
Moosey Hybrid Dahlia...: This multi-coloured dahlia must have been created by my bees! I only have plain red and plain yellow ones in the garden.
Hemerocallis...: Close up detail of the pollen laden stamens on a species Hemerocallis
Red Canna in Flower...: This Canna flower is just starting to unfold.
Blue Scabious...: This cultivar is called Butterfly Blue, and flowers almost non stop throughout the year.
Arcotis...: Arcotis grow in the rock wall alongside the laundry side of the house.
Lavender Bract...: I have a lot of different types of lavender bushes planted in the garden.
Soft Orange Dahlia...: This soft orange dahlia is planted on its own in Middle Border. The colour is very beautiful.
Blue Pansy...: Each pansy flower in the garden has a different face, though the markings on each are always symmetric..
Shasta Daisies...: These Shasta daisies would grow everywhere if I allowed them to. They have a most peculiar smell.
Dark Pink Phlox...: This is one of my favourite phloxes, which flowers in mid summer. The leaves are dark green with reddish tones.
