I have been given a container filled with what are supposedly seeds for nicotiana sylvestris. How would one know?

Thanks for any information. Robyn Lorraine Lee.

Dear friend, you just go to your nearest good nursery with some of your seeds wrapped in an envelope. Find a professional, experienced gardener there, and show him/her your seeds . You'll have a first hand answer. Good luck!

Nicotiana sylvestris seeds

Thank you so much for your response. Of course, that is absolutely the best idea. The reason I have asked the question is because I manage a 19th century Victorian house museum and someone came up to me in the parking lot and gave me the container with the seeds in it, and a hand printed label with the nicotiana sylvestris written on it. He seemed like a nice young man, and he said he thought the gardens would be enhanced by such plants. However, I really didn't know what to think about the seeds since I could not find anything on websites about them, except on this one that said Moosey planted from the seeds. Obviously, I was thinking they may be some other kind of plant that is also of the tobacco family. So, anyway, I shall go to the nursery and see what happens. Thanks again for your response. I shall post a note when I hear something. Robyn
