Snow : The nutritious protector of our plants!

17 Jan '06 10:41 am
" During these winter months, our gardens on the mountains are covered by snow, in order to support the frost. The snow is the best ever thermal isolator for our plants! It keeps steadily the surface of the ground around 0 Celcius, while the thermometer shows us -15 Celcius! Even more, while it protects our plants ,it also enriches their soil with very nutritious elements. Effectively -during its condensation- it captures in its crystals all the ozonic, nitric, and ammoniac elements existing in the air, releasing them directly into the covered by snow ground. In this way, all the vegetables and plants are being fed during the winter, by simply absorbing the snow! It is just enough to watch the brilliance and health of the wild plants in the countryside, right after the snowy carpet melts, in order to be convinced. So! The ground of our gardens highly benefits from the abundance of the snow! "

( : From the gardening magazine " L' Ami des jardins et de la maison" - Janvier 2006 .)
"..So,perhaps, it is easiest, through awareness of flowers in particular, of their radiant beauty and purity, their vibrant colour, to come to the excellence of the One and be uplifted beyond thought to our divine selves".Dorothy Maclean

Dixie - How much? I've got plenty to pass around!
A good mower is essential to proper lawn care. I prefer one that is young, tanned and shirtless. ;)

Wow, that's made me feel a whole lot better after our snow devastation - it's still lying on the ground here, and some plants have been buried for nearly 3 weeks! Thanks for that!
