While looking around an antique shop which was closing and offered goods at half-price,I noticed, and bought a plate with 'Elizabeth of Glamis' on it.Arriving home,I read the reverse of the plate and found it fascinating.

The rose'Elizabeth of Glamis' was named after Elizabeth, the late Queen mother.
Glamis castle has been the home of the Earls of Strathmore for over 600 years.Elizabeth was the youngest daughter of the 14th Earl of strathmore, and spent much of her childhood there.
The rose was developed in 1964 and is a rich salmon.

I really like the rose, but the castle is my favorite part of that plate.
