Bob Flowerdew

8 Apr '11 1:56 pm
A friend who who was visiting was overjoyed to see my Bob Flowerdew gardening book. So much so that she read out tasty phrases for the next ten minutes. I'd forgotten all about him and what a nice gardener he sounds like. And he's pretty organic. A must to re-read now that the autumn days are here. Cheers, M

I had to giggle when I saw the title of that book, "The No-Work Garden"... where's the fun in it if there's no work?? I want sweat and an aching back! :D

...Now, to go get another addition to my gardening book collection....

someone at their work, you would find them smiling.

Confessions - I like Bob because he wears his hair in a long pepper-and-salt coloured plait, and so do I! he gives an English slant, but with extremely sound sensible principles, no cosmetics, if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't count on the person who started this thread coming back to reply. These types of people tend to post their links and are never seen again.

Honestly, the random post-pinching spam software could not have picked a least appropriate post to use!

Have been thinking of Bob these last weeks. So many little tiddly weeds, and just not possible to mulch them out of existence. The pointy-finger and the thumb technique, I'm afraid. Character-forming, hee hee...

The weeds that annoy me are the clever ones that take up residence right beside another plant, sometimes even one with similar foliage, so by the time you notice them they are quite tall.
