We have portulacas self seeding through the gravel of the driveway by the front steps. Every garish colour of the rainbow - the undergardeners love them!

I too am a bit envious of those who have proper cold winters. No weeds grow when it's that cold - how nice to have some respite from the perpetual task. But mostly it's because I envy those who can grow peonies and lilacs. :mrgreen:
