How to attach photos to your forum posts

28 Mar '04 10:48 am
Attaching photos to posts can be tricky so If you are having problems follow these steps and you'll be showing off your shasta daisies in no time.

The first step is to post a new topic or reply to an existing post. Below the Message Body window you'll notice a section titled :

ADD AN ATTACHMENT

To attach a photo to your post click on the BROWSE button. Navigate around your computer until you find the photo you're after and select OK. The location and name of the photo will appear in the window to the left of the BROWSE button :

Add a short comment / decsription of the photo to the comment field as shown in the next screen :

Then click the ADD ATTACHMENT button. There will be a small delay before the next screen appears indicating your photo is uploaded, attached to the post and waiting for you to SUBMIT the whole post :

If you don't submit the post you won't see the attached files.

If you try these steps and still can't get it to work please email a mooseys Country Garden staff member or post to this forum.

Don't forget you can EDIT your own posts afterwards so if it doesn't work or you get the wrong photo you can easily delete your mistakes.

For more information on image uploads and quotas etc please read the other guides and FAQs. Happy image uploading everyone :)

Thanks for your nice post. This is very useful for me to learn how to attach the photo in forum posts. Hereafter I paste the pictures in posts. All the forums will teach something useful like this forum.

You are quite right, Gardening. But I don't think any of us are going to support your website if you keep posting just to advertise. Join us in talking about YOUR gardening experiences. That is what these forums are about. You are doing your site more harm than good going about it this way.

Hi there. I'm now doing a test of one of my pix to see how 'big' they can be. I'll mail you! :D

Looks like all these sizes have loaded. You'll need to use a photo editing programme to cut the size down. I usually resize to a pixel width of 600. And save so that the file size is between 100 and 200 KB. I'll mail you anyway!

cheers, M

I am glad I found this little info spot. I know I posted photos on the rose section - blowed if I can remember how, but I am pretty sure I won't have to go to Photobucket. I can reduce my photos on "Web resizer - optimise pictures for Email and websites" at: http://www.webresizer.com/resizer/

I used to have an email site that let you reduce your photos, but the one I have now doesn't. Now, let's see...
Testing, testing, Yay!
