20 May '05 8:43 am On a recent visit to the Chelsea Physic Garden I photographed this unknown plant.
The top of the plant has a distinct euphorbia look to it so I searched around the internet for a euphorbia identification guide until I found that a Euphorbias only defining characteristic is the milky sap
I've heard that some euphorbia sap can cause blisters and irritations so I'm glad I followed the advice of our garden tour guide - There are a lot of poisonous plants at the Chelsea Physic Garden...
Time to leave the plant labelling and naming up to the experts methinks

24 May '05 8:12 am Ha! Looks like the Euphorbia on the cover of the latest English gardening magazine 'The Garden'. That one is called Euphorbia myrsinites (complete with a little 'm'). Be very impressed!

24 May '05 9:13 am I don't think its euphorbia myrsinites - that has succulent like leaves in groovy spiral patterns and you've got one in the stables border somewhere.
I can pop in and ask when we're at the Chelsea Flower Show - the physic garden is just down the road. ummm... make that just up the Thames

not!
29 Jun '05 12:33 am I have grave doubts about this being a Euphorbia at all!!
It has completely wrong leaves for this family!

23 Dec '06 1:04 am I beleive it is Euphorbia, but not myrsitensis (have managed to kill two of them this far - and I remeber them well!!! ). This is a non-succulent Euphorbia and since there are hundreds of Euphorbias and I'm not really good in ID non succulent plants I'm sorry I'm not able to help you.
