29 Mar '05 6:01 am The Dafs are out down at the St Giles Churchyard, as are a few photo shy squirrels and a couple of families enjoying the last day of the easter holidays.
Its heating up in London. The signs of spring are all around but the temperature could be a little kinder - Its not quite T-Shirt weather yet.
Here are a few spring photos from the St Giles Churchyard with special northern hemisphere spring greetings going out to all the southern hemisphere gardeners stocking up their woodsheds and woolies for a harsh bleak winter
7 Apr '05 8:25 am I can't believe it. I've been admiring the beautiful garden in NZ for some months now and suddenly I'm looking at photos of somewhere a mile down the road from me. The world is indeed a tiny place. Wonderful photos of St Giles.

7 Apr '05 9:06 am Welcome to the forums Myrtlemount and thankyou for your kind comments.
I popped back to the churchyard last weekend to relax in the sun, read a book and take a few photos. I ended out staying 2 hours - photos and a bit of video to come. I was sorting thru the photos when you posted
What I enjoy most about St Giles Churchyard is the brickwork and stonework backgrounds on offer. I love anything rustic or slightly delapidated and I'm fascinated by squirrels - none of them where I'm from
The light is wonderful and the church ever present. Bex likes it because she can peer over a mossy brick wall into other peoples gardens.
I'm going to pop back this weekend sometime. The weather is supposed to be good and there's a few healthy looking tulips in front that eluded my lens last year.

7 Apr '05 10:44 am oddly I've never been in. I've only seen it from the road but I shall definitely try and pop in now I've seen your photos. I particularly like the purple muscari shot. I'm waiting for my bluebells to come out now - although my daughters are doing their best to trample them before they see the light of day. I can hardly claim to be a gardener. I'm very lucky to have acquired a very mature garden that really only needs cutting back at regular intervals although we do try and add something new each year. This year we are toying with the idea of a pond as our neighbours had to fill theirs in and the frogs are homeless. Last year they ended up doing what frogs do in a discarded plastic tub behind our shed which had filled with rain water. I think they deserve better! I'm going to see if I can attach a photo - something I've never done before so sorry if it all goes wrong. Still it shows the local wildlife have sensed spring in the air.
5 Aug '05 1:43 pm Eggy, You're a great photographer! Lovely flowers and scenery in all the churchyards. Wonderful places to relax and charge your batteries before charging back into the busy world.
