Curves, Authors, Link Text, Exif Information20 Jul '05 11:03 am
In the days before I began my new job there were a flurry of small site changes and I totally forgot to tell anyone about it. Moosey returned from Nelson to find curves everywhere and the journal full of puzzled forum members...
Sorry for the 'old switcherooo' here are some of the other changes :
Curves :
I've smoothed off as many of the sharp edges as I could. Thumbnails are now all curvey, as are the 'polaroid picture' frames we use around most of the photos on the site.
If only moosey would use all the lovely CSS quotes, speech bubbles, boxes and bullets I have made for her
Author signatures :
An author photo and a little signature appear at the end of most pages now. A bit showy but a personal touch I like : The website manager and head gardener are quietly grumbling about their author photos already.... in mooseys own words... Hmmmpfhhh!
I think bex and moosey are just jealous of stephen the blue shirted garden engineer rose arch construction legend. Go the Hazelnut Rose Arches!!! I expect several pages of detailed notes, costings and measurements.
I like a man who gets his rose arches custom made
Exif Image information :
Another tiny change - mooseyscountrygarden.com has been retaining EXIF information in our images for a while now. This is information like the camera make, shutter speed & aperture settings etc. You can't see it without a special viewer, we don't do anything with it yet but I'm sure it will prove useful later.
Menu Changes :
The menus have been juggled around to give the forums a bit more prominence. I keep on clicking on journals instead of forums too lisa
Link Descriptions :I've added description text to the < PREV | NEXT > links at the top right and bottom of most pages.
This can get a little long sometimes but should give readers a better idea of where the link goes to without having to .
I'm a big fan of descriptive mouseover text on images and links. If you are prepared to move your mouse over images and links, I'd like to reward you with some information you might not see otherwise. I hope it adds to the 'exploring' factor.
Lots more changes in the wings, after I've settled in at my new job. |
