New Gardening Camera for Bex and Kew Gardens by Night28 Nov '04 8:59 am
When we visited Beth Chatto's garden recently Bex got soooooo bored and moaned soooooo much about there only being one camera that I had to do something about it.
I purchased a new digital gardening camera for the website manager today - A Fuijfilm f810, a very nice little 6 megapixel camera. I got a 1 gigabyte card for my digital gardening camera and bex inherits my 512mb one so we've got oodles of storage space between us.
We decided to take both our cameras to Kew Gardens but it was almost dark by the time we arrived
We took some photos and will post them as soon as we finish mcgTV, A New English Gardens section, Our new Beth Chatto Gardens in Autumn pages, A Christmas Newsletter and some other stuff we've got in the pipeline
Phew enough forum chitter chatter. Time to get back to work...

Kew garden by night28 Nov '04 9:27 am
OK I hold my hands up - my enjoyment of visiting gardens goes only so far - its boring watching Eggy take photos. Hurray! Now I can too.
Starting in the uncompetitive manner in which I intend to go on, here's a much nicer photo of Kew by night - thanks to my lovely camera

LOL Bex!
There is nothing worse than just watching, especially when boys have to 'fiddle' with all the little buttons and probe every available option whilst you have an itchy index finger and have seen a million pretty flowers that *need* to be photographed!

And Eggy does have so VERY MANY buttons to fiddle with on his super dooper camera
Even with my lovely new camera to amuse me, those insect and leaf close-ups can keep him going for ages after I run out of pretty flowers! Leaving me with time, of course, to do helpful things such as interview people and collect the pamphlets (read as 'go shopping'...)

Bx, it's about time you showed us some of your new photos! My old Canon A20 with the recently discovered close-up button will be no match for you.
PS Do you reckon your camera would like to go to Hestercombe in Somerset one day? The county fire service uses the house and gardens and they are pretty amazing. Your camera would really enjoy it! Photos of firemen in the perennial border?

Would that classify it as a hot border maybe?

Eek! I can see bus-loads of eager old-lady gardeners arriving at Hestercombe to see the 'hot border'. Visitor numbers triple in one week! Perhaps they could do a 'hot-garden' calendar?
Bx - you and you camera could get some mileage out of this!
