16 Apr '04 6:37 am I am a glasshouse noob, having just bought one a month ago.
I noticed it gets rather hot in there even at this time of year, which made me think about shading options for the summer.
Has anyone used that white paint stuff and/or a shade cover? Is one better than the other?

17 Apr '04 4:18 pm I use that paint - for the first years I very carefully washed it off in Autumn and repainted when I remembered in late Spring. Then one year I forgot to wash it off - and the next spring I didn't need to repaint - what a slacker!!! Oops - haven't repainted it since.
And I only use the glasshouse in winter for overwintering the half-hardy potted things I insist on growing (like daisies and pelargoniums etc.)
Think you would be well advised to pay more attention to someone less random!
PS I reckon the shade paint is pretty OK.

glass house shading blinds
10 Jul '04 1:06 am Hey Pumpkin -
We thought of you when we saw these glass-house blinds at Chelsea - perhaps a less time-consuming alternative to painting?
We didn't take the details of this particular supplier tho as the glass-house pictured cost £18,000
Do you reckon that some (more affordable!) bamboo blinds would keep your glass-house cooled down enough in the summer? Might be worth a try.
