1 Jun '07 3:58 pm My neighbor, Anner Bell, who is in her 70s, would like to know the name of her rose.
I think it might be Jacob's Coat, but I am a novice with roses and also I cannot find pix on google that show the leaves or thorns on Jacob's Coat.
What do the experts think?
It grows like a tea rose, straight and strong. The cane is rigid, the thorns refuse to leave the cane. The thorns are very close to pure red. There is a nice smell. Didn't count the petals.

1 Jun '07 5:54 pm It does look like the Joseph's Coat to me, but I don't really know many other two tone roses.

2 Jun '07 9:20 pm According to my 'Botannica's Pocket Roses', Joseph's Coat is a 'modern, large-flowered climber, red blend, repeat flowering'. The photo accompanying it is more yellow than your photos.
And in 'The World of Roses' by Stirling Macoboy, it's described as a cluster-flowered climber. The photo in this book shows a group of roses, and while the outer ones are more yellow, the central one is very much like yours.
I'm not sure I'd like to say one way or the other.
