After 8 or 9 years of funny browny orange backgrounds we've finally changed to a black and off-white layout. I've made the text smaller and increased the line spacing a bit.
The black 'polaroid' photo effect has been toned down a bit too, as have the page headings and lots of other minor details.
There are still a few pages that aren't white or that have brown lists and some pages on the site that are a little broken - its late, and its my birthday tomorrow - they can wait another day
I hope you all like the new changes - comments / suggestions / criticism welcome... |

I'm sorry, eggy, but I don't like the way the pictures overlap each other now. Sometimes the text underneath is unreadable. I liked the way you had it before better. This jumbled picture idea is not a good one. The way you had it before was real nice. Why would you want to mess around with a good thing? Change for changes sake is un-good. Put it back the way it was please.
Just my opinion.

christopher,
the 'overlapping' isn't intentional - I've seen it before tho. What browser are you using and can you send me the URL of a page it is occuring on please?
cheers

I think it is O.K.23 Jun '07 3:12 am
Well, I just saw the changes, just looking for any new Journal by Mary. What I only saw changed, was the white and not orangy page. I have to admit, I liked it more before, or it is just, that I am not used yet --- or , that I was extra accustomed before ( I am 2 years here this 1st of July)... Finallly, the colour white produces nice contrasts with the other colours ; we have to try to get used to it, no?? Let's give changes a chance! But this .."overlapping" thing, I really do not understand what it really is... |

I am using FireFox for a browser. I like it so much more than IE. I was having a look at my thread from last year. I don't know why it was acting up. Perhaps it was just a glitch. I'm relieved to know you are not the one to over lap the images.

howdy all... I've stumbled in after a post birthday celebration
I know what's causing the image overlapping - I forgot to resize all the thumbnails after you asked me to make them smaller... Whoops. I moved them closer together and only squashed about 1/2 of them down - so the old posts will overlap a little. Will fix this weekend sometime.
Pumpkin - thanks for the links... Will work on fixing the firefox image and text overhand problem too. is the same for me in firefox 1.07, 1.0.5.12 and 2.0.
happy gardening... |
