Mourning Doves in the Epi's
25 May '07 3:21 pm I was just getting ready to rush out for a walk with the dogs before sunset when my big white epi flowers caught my eye. These are sometimes called orchid cactus. I think this one might have been called Queen of the Night. It is very fragrant. While I was shooting these the parent on duty sitting on a pair of baby Mourning Doves flew off. Must have been crowding it too much. So I got a couple of shots of the babies. They're sitting in an Epi with large red flowers that isn't yet in bloom. (I had to leave a lot of the clover weeds for the party so as not to disturb them too much.) Enjoy.
