Moosey and I have never really talked about what this site costs and makes. All this moosey madness started off as a single page mothers day present then our popularity and traffic grew and now after 10 years we find ourselves running a virtual mother and son garden business! Very surreal.
I may be putting more advertising on the forums but don't worry - members will only see ads if they aren't logged in. I want as much space as possible for your posts and photos. |

Thank you, our Eggy, one of the best Webmasters ever, and a most tender, caring son! And I feel sort of motherly caring for you, too !!...And...I have already started getting used to our new photo-size, since the hidden size is huge... |

Advertising = Silly Forum Antics2 Feb '07 9:56 am
Thanks for your comments about the advertising. I am concerned that the ads may drive away visitors and potential forum members. I should trumpet the register = 'Ad Free' louder.
Moosey and I have decided that the revenue we receive from the Moosey forums will be kept separate from the main site and returned to the forum members. Its your posts that make this place special, bring us traffic and generate revenue.
Cool! now we have a budget for silly moosey forum antics! I'm am grinning manically thinking about the possibilities so get your heads together and think of things we can do as a group.
e.g.
* I'd like to see a good New Zealand Flax planted in each of your gardens...
* We could build a library of gardening books and share them around?
* make a donation from the moosey forums to a gardening related charity?
* get some moosey photos or calendars printed and send them out to you?
These are just ideas... more suggestions please! |

Hi, Eggy. I haven't been here for awhile so I was glad to see your explaination of these ad bubbles today. I'm not a big fan of them, but if they lower your site bills, then go for it. I'll be glad to put up with them in order to see this wonderful gardening site continue for a long while yet. |
