Thanks in advance, Moosey, for the seeds! As for the quiz, I've now done it a couple of more times and came up with a different flower each time. I, for one, would appreciate a few "not applicable" type of answers, as I was equally split or didn't feel the question applied to me from time to time.
Cheers!

I agree with Gordon that a few "not applicable" or "none of the above" answers might be helpful as I too sometimes was torn about which answer to choose when none of them fit the bill for me.
All in all, it is a fun diversion and I think people will find it entertaining. Again, I like the wordiness because I find it so "Moosey" and I love that. That's what drew me to this site in the first place. |

I love your style of writing, Moosey, so I'd be sad to find it more cold and anonymous myself. And I agree about the No Comment option - that would have been nice on a couple of occasions when I've tried it out. |

It was a great fun!17 Feb '07 5:17 am
Yes, everything I needed to comment is there already! But I have to add , that only once or twice I was feeling that no question really "fitted me"; and I have participated about five times . And I enjoyed with all my heart all the five of them! Thank you, Mary! |

What Plant Am I? a Kangaroo Paw Seed Packet?17 Feb '07 7:34 am
I knew it! What Plant Am I? needs a few more 'no comment' answers
For me, there are two reasons -
one is that I sometimes love to sit on the fence! And two is I hate it when serious questionnaires try and put free-thinking, individual ME in some sort of a pigeon hole. And I suspect that even in a fun quiz I'd like to have more options - after all, what I think matters! Thanks again.
Gordon - my friend and I have seen proper packets of these Kangaroo Paw seeds on sale - we think definitely in New Zealand or Australian airport gift shops, and possibly in local nurseries too. So I will zoom down later today and have a look.
My friend is not happy wth her plants - some are new nursery hybrids, and they take the adjective 'short-lived' a little to heart. But she's confused, as they should enjoy her frost-free micro-climate garden. Another friend who is a cactus and succulents man grows a species clump in a large pot, ignores them, and they've been blooming marvellous for years. There's a message there! |

Kangaroo Paws and Quizzes17 Feb '07 2:26 pm
Thanks, Moosey, for the info. about ignoring Kangaroo Paw plants; that should be easy!! By the way, if you can find some packets of seed for sale, I'd be happy to reimburse you for cost and postage.
Now, for the quiz: I'm glad that I'm not the only one who sometimes doesn't "fit" or who would rather be indecisive . I, too, like the little commentaries that come with each flower as you go through the quiz - I get a good chuckle from some of them!

What Plant am I goes LIVE27 Feb '07 9:46 am
Not Applicable Questions :
Hmmmm... Good point Gordon and Faith, Aside from 2 answer YES / NO questions there aren't any N/A answers.
When we had N/A / Not Applicable answers, too many people picked the N/A option and the plant they were didn't change at all. Moosey - Can you load more answers with N/A or a moosey equivalent please?
I hope the addition of multimeda questions with pictures, video and sound will help add something to the quiz too.
Oh just about forgot - the What Plant am I quiz is live and on the front page of the site now. The email a friend feature is working too. If everyone can give it a going over and let us know of any problems / spelling mistakes etc. There are bound to be some problems that crept thru.
Thanks to everyone who helped find scientific names for the plants too.
One last thing, the old link doesn't work anymore. Access the quiz from the link on the front page.[/b] |
