I like the sun in this shot...late evening end of summer.
This was my first bed, before I found the online ordering sites and was stuck with bag babies. They never did as well as my bareroots from Parks, heirloom, and Roses Unlimited.
They are Kordes Perfecta, Pascali,Sonia,Blue Girl, and Maria Callas. Two unidentified minis that were planted in the shade when I bought the house and were lawnmower bitten.
These are my bareroots that I planted in July 4 months later.
This is my front yard, that is now marked for carving...Im removing the plam tree and putting in a water fountain and rose beds around it.
I also want a pergola over my front walk, I feel old and tired just thinking about the work I set for myself this spring!

15 Feb '07 7:17 pm Your new garden looks much loved and taken care, dear friend! A lovely new beginning! It is really great...
But I do think that the size of your photos are, still, quite large for our website ...recent regulations. You have better post them in the size/method of your "hurricaneflower" photo in the Unidentified Flower Objects section, where our Moosey already replied to you...

16 Feb '07 4:55 pm I would be so pleased if I could view your pictures - reading about them ,they sound so interesting after the heartbreak you have had .I have dial -up so they don't appear for ages and ages ,and I usually give up .
By the way I LOVE 'Pascali' - it is the most elegant rose I think .

Hi Cajunangi
20 Feb '07 8:52 am Well before I trudge off to prep for teaching tomorrow I'm sneeking in a look at a few more photos. Your grass is so perfect whatever you leave will probably make your new projects look great. I'm intrigued by that ferny foliaged tree beside the palm you're removing. It looks very fresh and lush. Could you tell me what it is?
Thanks, Mark

20 Feb '07 9:47 am Ive looked it up and have identified it as one of the tree fern species. Its interesting as it thrives in shade and is a fast grower. My neighbor cut hers down and there fore cut my side down as well so that beauty is no longer hanging over my fence. I hope to entice her to leave it be this year..she can cut HER side.
One interesting fact about that lovely bush, at night it folds up into long closed fans. During the day they are open like that shot I have. The leaves are butter soft and lightly scented.
