ARRGH! Poor Mr Snowman! hehe, I love your pix Bambi!
How awesome to wake up to a white world. I know it's not that great if you have piles and piles of it and it goes all slushy and yuk, but we never get it so it looks great!
Snowdrops are the most delicate looking flower and are perfect when photographed in a snowy garden gorgeous! |

Bambi, all those snow pics are just superb. Those snowdrops are simply gorgeous and the tiny greens sprouting through the white mass is fantastic! The before and after pics of Mr. Snowman is comical! Love them all!
Thank you all for sharing your experiences/info about snow, etc. I’m captivated by all that I’m seeing and reading in this lovely thread and am delightfully enlightened about the good and bad of snow! |

Hee hee, thank you my friends for your lovely comments! I agree - there's nothing more heartwarming at this time of year than a few lovely snowdrops poking their heads through the fluffy white stuff and I couldn't resist taking a few snaps and sharing them with you.
Yes, Mr Snowman did look a little worse for wear the "morning after", didn't he?! Bad boy! We decided we didn't want to do a bog-standard snowman which is why we put a few little extras on, like the ears, arms and feet! We also gave him little twiggy eyebrows and slitted pupils (which were cut out of potatoes) in his eyes which you may or may not be able to see in that photo.
Unfortunately all that's left of our snowman now (or was when I left this morning) is a little patch about five inches in diameter and a couple of inches high Oh well, onwards and upwards - it looks like we're going to be in for some warmer (if wetter and windier) weather for the next couple of weeks, which I'm hoping will lead nicely onto a beautiful spring.
Ooh, that reminds me, I spotted the little yellow head of my first crocus of the year popping up yesterday so I must keep an eye on him and take a piccy when he opens! Hurrah for spring bulbs! |
