14 Dec '06 2:40 am Rather than posting so many pictures, I shall just put my garden link up here. It desperately needs updating as the garden has been fantastic this summer but I have to prod my other half to make the changes as he is the computer specialist in this household. However, I'll post individual pictures myself.

AHA!
14 Dec '06 2:55 am As I said in the Moosey post - I am running late now! I have peeked at your website, and love it - AND its potential. Perhaps the future lies somewhere there for me too...
I will look at it in detail tomorrow. Now I must get other things done!!

14 Dec '06 9:11 pm Hi Vicky, lovely avatar and I like the colour! Have bookmarked your site and will explore later when I'm free! I'll be out soon to continue my gardening which was left half-done in the morning when the hot sun became unbearable!
Yes thankyou, a great antidote to grey skies and rain (and some great links btw..almost got lost out there).
Do you know the name of the fab pink and cream striped rose on page 2 of casadinho "Pix" please?

Flowers
15 Dec '06 3:24 am Hello again, Jacqueline. My avatar is a picture of the first bloom I had on my Passiflora Violacea Victoria which my sister bought for me in October. It is heaving with buds now and I shall take another picture of it soon.
Hi, Jay Bee! The rose, which is heavenly headily scented, is called Oranges and Lemons ... very apt for here as we live in the middle of the orange orchards, and lemons are in abundance too. We don't own the orchards but do have our own lime tree (Bearrs) and a Star Ruby Grapefruit which has it's first flower bud on it!

18 Dec '06 2:35 pm I love the look of your place. I could see me living there.
I love both the style of house and the idea of the lifestyle. It must be wonderful.
I really like the look of your stone wall and flowers etc. Now if I could just transplant the whole thing over here...

Life is easy ..
19 Dec '06 9:14 am Hello, Anna!
Life is slow and easy here and we love the "country" life ... or as they say in Portuguese ... "viver no campo". It's peaceful and beautiful.
It was a lovely sunny, crisp (16oC) day so we went for a drive in the mountains ... we live halfway between the Serra de Monchique mountains and the sea ... about 20 minutes each way. Perfect! We went up to collect pinecones for the fireplace but they haven't really dropped yet, perhaps after the new year but we hiked up to the ruins of an old castle in Alferce. We ate juicy strawberries from the Arbutus unedo tree and I managed to pull a root up and planted it as soon as we came home!
The old people still use donkeys for ploughing (saw that today but didn't have the camera with me!) and harvest by hand. A very hard life without electricity and running water.
I can't really paint a good picture of it but here is a "tourist" link which may give a good idea ...
