2 Nov '06 12:20 pm Yes, Ziggy's named after Ziggy Stardust. It might not be overly obvious from that shot but Ziggy has two different coloured eyes. One is brown, the other a grey/blue.
So therefore, being Bowie fans, we had to call him Ziggy.

2 Nov '06 9:53 pm Thought I'd end off this post with two pics taken early morn of 31 Oct. All is too lush and dense already to still be called spring, so let's have a lush, dense coda in preparation for the next movement!
I see Moosey also says Nov=summer. What is more she says some interesting things on formal vs. quirky gardening in this week's journal... I would love to walk around our gardens together, Moosey, because we seem to approach things with a very similar attitude, yet with very different results. I often imagine someone used to National Trust perfection walking around my garden and sneering at the haphazard management of the formal aspects of the design - whereas you, like me, would, I think, enjoy them as a gesture.
Makes me think.... I must do a post on Kings Waldon, a magnificent garden 40km away which has been named 'most romantic garden in SA', and where I, in the early days of my feeling that our valley wanted a formal overlay when all around me called 'nature! nature!', first realised just how quirky and haphazard great formality can be. I have some magnificent photos taken last year... will do a search and a post under Garden Tours...
