"Hidden pics"
1 Jun '06 2:14 am Eggy - help/advice please! I have spoken to my system administrator but she is baffled. Perhaps you can point me.
I never see pics - I get the red cross and the name in a 1cm x 5cm box, with enough blank space to fit in the pic. I can then open the pic in a separate window. However my first day in the forums I saw pics integrated into the forum page, and the pic of Frans Seale I posted over the weekend I saw as well - once. Now the 'box' is there, the full size of the pic (not the usual 1cm x 5cm), but no pic. Ir opens as usual though in a separate window.
I suspect the school net nanny - as a way of keeping down bandwidth. But the SA says no. I can't see any video, which I am almost certain is net nanny related as it is a problem on all websites I access. I don't access similar forums to compare - but my @gmail gives me the option to view pics or not on certain pages.
Any comment?
Thanks - Jack

Thanks Eggy!
3 Jun '06 2:40 am Don't know what you did (or didn't) do, Eggy, but you did (or didn't ) do it right! Most pics now come up in the text - except for Moosey's welcome home present, which she seems also to receive as a red cross, and which she seems not to appreciate anyway Dam!

filtering and blocking moosey images
5 Jun '06 12:18 am Jack,
I didn't make any changes!! I've checked from a few PC's at work, macs, linux pc's and windows and can't find any problems. Filtering software like netnanny, websense etc. will generate a few false positives from time to time.
At my previous job I couldn't view many of the PINK ROSE pictures as the colours were too close to 'flesh tones' and potentially indecent

Thanks for the help!
5 Jun '06 12:34 am Well then some of the buttons I pushed must have been the right ones... but don't ask me which. I thought that I reset everything as found, having decided it was not what I was looking for. Or perhaps the SA changed things after all. One way or the other the problem is solved, and it is much easier now to enjoy the forums.
Did you consider looking to see if roses like Spiced Coffee passed the test? Or Sexy Rexy, for that matter? We obviously have no flesh sensors here: I opened a mail from a regular friend the other day whilst I had a class in ... it contained some interesting shots of sun-worshippers (etc.!) on a yacht in the Med, and claimed to be his holiday pics. (He wished!!) I had to close it rather quickly and leave it for later inspection. Quite refreshing after the squeeky-clean viewing at school
