Canterbury Foothills Tussock Garden11 May '06 9:38 am
Here's a real natural garden tour - up a valley in the tussock foothills in South Canterbury! I think the river is the Stour river, and the farm is called the Barossa Station. This is 'big' country, and the tussock colours are so warm. Aargh - how cold it gets when the sun goes down. And in winter - snow!
Absolutely wonderful to walk in on a sunny autumn day!

I'm awestruck!! Such majestic beauty!
Thanks for sharing these awesome pics, Moosey! To be able to view them in their enlarged sizes and seeing nature's beautiful formation in great detail is truly a bonus for me, a city folk!

So similar... This wild beauty!11 May '06 7:24 pm
Yes! It would sound ridiculous, but this sort of magestic beauty can be also met... in the dry islands of The Aegean Sea in Greece -- like Santorini, especially the ....goats rockery!..Where you can meet similarly special flora and warm colours in Autumn. I wonder, is it the fact that they are all islands, with so similar , comparatively soft, temperatures during Winter and Summer ?
And, again, I am full of amazement for our planet's beauty! And it is rather small, isn'it?
