Camelia inside-out...30 Apr '06 10:51 pm
This morning it was grey and rainy outside...But when I pushed the curtains aside, there she was! Our Camelia, from within and from without! And, I suddenly, stopped feeling grey inside..."Good morning, dearest", I said...

Liza I thought about your pink Camellia pix all morning - I've been working in the back lawn garden, weeding and getting things ready for mulch, and peering at my white Camellia buds. Hmm... I love their flowers so much!

Camelias Love...1 May '06 10:40 pm
Moosey, your Camelias are all exceptionally beautiful! The white one, yes! She is just such a special tender darling! But all the rest have such beautiful colours and forms, too! Some of them have huge blooms like Roses! And , generally all your acid lover plants , your Rhodos, too, are in great form! Gorgeous!
But, you know, I noticed with my Camelia, that her blooms are not always standard in form or size. It has to do with the weather, temperature, and humidity. Two years ago her blooming season was not rainy/humid and the temperatures about 20C-22C ! She was SO happy! She was expressing her happiness, by creating huge, magnificent double blooms, that stayed long fresh and perfect. This year is quite the opposite: she started blooming 3 weeks later than normal, it is rainy and cold for the season. And her blooms do not open fully, the blooms are small and "timid"...Some buds will fall down before opening... Poor thing...
