Winning the battle against slugs and snails14 Jan '06 4:04 pm
I have had great success with applications of diatomaceous earth, purchased from the local hardware store.
Don't take a big breath as you sprinkle it around plants - the crushed ancient seashells, or whatever they are, are not good for lungs.
Re-apply after rains.
After one spring and summer of applying around hostas, I had a lovely year with almost zero slug damage, this year. Only found one slug all year. No snails. |
