Cat-Friendly Garden Design24 Aug '04 11:07 am
Cats Protection - the oldest and largest feline welfare society in the UK - have online information leaflets including one giving advice on Cats and Gardens in the Living in Harmony section.
I wonder whether the cat-friendly and the dog-friendly garden designers could join up and produce the ideal garden for the two together

The leaflet includes this cat-friendly garden design, which Cats Protection distributed at the Chelsea Flower Show this year.

My cat Tom is sitting beside me watching the screen, I asked him what he thought of that design and he very kindly indicated (by giving me a wee bump on the head) that he rather likes the one he's already got, now he is going to walk across the keyboard for a closer look... )
I assume a Cat Friendly Garden would have both sunny and shady spots, some catmint to nibble, a bit of grass to chew on for medicinal purposes,a bowl of water , and a friendly gardener who is never too busy to take time out for a tummy rub and a bit of flattery.

Dear friend,...."Swallowstitch" !!
I was immensely moved by your tender, affectionate, gentle, and wise post!! Especially by the two last lines of it, because they express the way I personally feel about Existence all my (earthly) life :
"I am no more no less a creation than those with foliage, fur, or feathers. We are ALL EQUAL on Mother Earth! If this were so, it would be the perfect world!"
Yes!
From today on, I'm going to attach your wise saying to my posts! Signed "Swallowstitch"!
I send you a big hug!!
Love, Liza
