7 Mar '08 11:32 am Thank you all for the compliments. The west coast of Canada does have a forgiving climate. Even 60 miles from the coast, it's still pretty moderate, allowing us to enjoy lush gardens. I try to plant for each area, depending on shade or sun. It can be extremely dry in the summer months and the clay soil does crack when it dries out. Planting to suit the sunny beds is so much easier than trying to keep up with watering if you've planted moisture lovers there, as well as being more environmentally friendly. I give it my best try anyway. There have been casualties.
I'm looking forward to a three day weekend starting tomorrow, so hope to accomplish a lot in the garden.
Thanks again for the kind words,
June

You have a beautiful garden and equally adorable goats. My neighbor has two the same, they are characters aren't they!
I'm really impressed with your hosta! I have tried a few times to grow one but those snails always find it!
Enjoy your visits here... there is always so much to see and catch up on
