My New Zealand Icebergs are absolutely not fragrant at all! And they go pink in the rain, and I still love them and forgive them! |

I had an Iceberg climbing rose a few years ago, but it was so susceptible to black spot that I gave it away; in its new garden, it doesn't seem to suffer as much - who'd have thought it? I've read that if your garden is prone to black spot you should absolutely NOT plant any rose that has Iceberg in its family tree as the susceptibility seems to be genetic.
As for the bugs chewing on the buds, could that be earwigs? I haven't had that problem here, but there are a lot of earwigs here and they do play hob with dahlias and some other flowers!
Cheers!
