The Cook Island people are very proud that the reality programme 'Survivor' has just been made on their island of Aitutaki .
I hope it doesn't spoil it for anyone to reveal that the programme had 260 production crew members, and employed 170 local people ,so it boosted the local economy cosiderably .It was filmed over 5 months .

I'll confess to not watching the series, but yay for their economy.
That's a lot of people involved. I thought the idea behind 'reality TV' was supposed to be that it was cheaper to produce because it wasn't 'scripted' or 'acted'. |
