The Good, the Bad and the Ugly14 Sep '06 10:28 am
We will start with the Good news. I have at last found a supplier of horse dung with which I intend to improve my sandy soil. My new riding school friend does not speak English, my Danish is poor, but, with an admixture of poor German and sign language I was able to bring back two trailer loads of lovely dung. A real treat for the soil next year. (my trailer was loaded for me and there was no charge!) Next we deal with the Bad news. A very large and very old Lilac had to be grubbed out and as I insist always that I get every root out , the operation involved spades, pick-axe, crowbars well you name it. My long iron crowbar slipped while I was kneeling in the hole and gave me a hefty jolt on the forehead bringing my teeth together so sharply that I chipped a front tooth. Hence the Ugly So there we are, my diary for the last 2 days. I have included a picture of an embryonic rose bed that will replace the offending Lilac -- you won't be able to see the pieces of tooth though. (They are under my pillow) Regards Gerry

Perhaps the tooth fairy will recognise the hidden child inside you, Gerry, and take u the tooth and leave a bright shiny gardening nursery voucher underneath that pillow - lavender filled, is it?
Good luck with the dentist. Aargh! A random thought - would old teeth remains from a dentist make good mulch?
