Happy Gardening5 May '05 3:53 am
Our local newspaper promoted the "Happy Gardening" activity on 2 or 3 month ago, i was interested in that so i attented an meeting consisted of over 1000 people, we exchanged with each other seeds and ideas on planting, i was a little bit shy that many of them are retired people and i seems too young to be a gardening lover. i thought days after days of which is my main rhythm of my balcony and roof until i was fascinated with roses. as a result, the other plants that i had were gradually exited from my balcony because of the new guest of my favorite roses.Today, i also feel happy to find the mooseys' rose forum here, i am now on the low grade lever of rose garding school, hope i could "stay" in this forum as long as i could. here, i'd like to attach some pics sharing my happy with rose lovers here. but there seems to be only one pic cound be attached , i searched its name on chinese website , not sure if it is the exact name of it, so, i'd appreciate if anyone could correct me, thank a lot! happy gardening!

happy gardening and a grace kelly rose?5 May '05 11:52 pm
Hi sarah and welcome to the forums. Make yourself at home I've heard that Hangzhou is the 'garden city' of china and that West Lake has some beautiful views...
Your rose looks very similiar to a Princess de Monaco / "Grace Kelly" I photographed in Federico Garcia Lorca Gardens (Granada, Spain) last year.
The blooms of this particular rose were well past their best and had the same pink rimmed petals as yours but the rest of the bloom had more of a ivory-yellow colour.
I'll dig the photo out from our spanish garden collection and you can compare.
(If you are still having problems attaching more than one pic to a post then please let me know)

Princess de Monaco and Acrobatics6 May '05 5:26 am
Tks for quickly echo,Eggy, i compared my roses with the website:http://www.ny-rose.com.cn/product_category.asp?page=2&category=61, it is a big producer of china roses.
As in this website, rose on Line2-2 is translated into "Princess de Monaco" and line4-3 is the similar but translated into 'Acrobatics' , i also have the 'Acrobatics' as attached pic, but i could not find any "Acrobatis rose" in any english websites, does it have another different name?
"Princess de Monaco"'s parrents is "Ambassador" and "Peace", who could "imagine the pic of her children"?

Bex, i like your pink-flax too, i also have the similar one in my balcony, here in chinese, we call it "Thousand year wood". i wonder when the hot summer comes, it should be taken back indoor? does it need water and fertilizer much? i bought it on Feburary, and it is growing quite well now.

The rose with the flax makes the perfect colour combination! It has the same colours as the my climbing rose Compassion, but is the one in your picture a climber?
How many balcony roses do you have? Roses are really my most favourite flower - I miss mine so much when the flowering season finishes.
Happy gardening

First blossoming of my climbing rose26 May '05 2:19 am
Moosey, i fall in love with roses just from this year, so i bought
some different kinds roses from March.
Today (May 24), the climbing rose on my roof is blossoming, and really brings
me surprise and happyness for its coulour and size.
I just call it "Red March", it may just quite a common climbing
rose, could you give me its English name?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday(June 20), My husband pruned allmost all of its side stems
without informed me before. I feel so sad and angry, coz two of the
side stems or bines grow so healthy and have never flowered. i was waiting for its new buds. I would not blame him if he had only
pruned the flowers or buds or small stems, but...

Second blossoming of my climbing rose3 Jun '05 7:14 pm
This one is named of "Magic March", coz it was bought on March,
and its flowers could change its coulour from red to yellow and white.
When i bought, it was blossoming , after that , i pruned all the flowers and fertilize carefully, now it is on its second beautiful blossoming with many lovely buds.
The feeling of pleasant surprising is so easy to find by the happy gardening.
