Cherry trees .3 May '06 6:47 pm
Is it any wonder that towns around the world have special festivals dedicated to this sweetest of trees. With the blue background of the sky , they are shown at their truly exquisite best !

You know, Dixie,......3 May '06 7:32 pm
...I fell in love with this tree, many years ago, when my husband was coming here in Belgium for professional reasons and taking me with him! It was once we hired a car, and when we went to pick it up, it was ...totally pink, completely covered by Cherry Tree's petals! It had rained the previous day, and all the Belgian small community streets planted with these trees , had become completely pink! What a spectacle ! But the numeric cameras were not invented yet those days, so no picture...

They're sooo..... pretty, Liza! Love their abundance and the shade of their leaves, trying to blend ever so gently with the pink flowers!

Nice tree you got there26 May '06 1:34 pm
My dad put in a Japanese cherry tree at the corner of his house and every year it would have small pink blossoms. Much smaller then what you have pictured here.
My wife has her eye on a flowering plum tree she wants for the front yard. We will see about that.
I'm glad to see your cherry tree in bloom. It made my day.

Lovely Liza! And at the other end of the world I was looking this morning in the mist at the last few gorgeous autumn leaves on my Kanzans giving the only colour in a drab spot...

I'm so grateful,....26 May '06 8:35 pm
....because we can all share the joy offered by this blessed creature, the same with so many others around the world! Isn'it just wonderful we can all share, through the written speech and our photos, this very special happiness that each one of our gardens fills our ..bodies, minds ,and spirits! I am so grateful...
And, dear C. Garden, I think , that if your heart longs for an adorable Cherry Tree, you'll find the proper spot in your garden! Maybe, it will be a corner by the fence. And you can keep it quite narrow and short by an "intelligent" pruning, not letting it become as large and tall as naturally tends to become... That's what I do , anyway...
