visit to Dunedin2 Apr '06 1:01 pm
Smiley and I will be leaving shortly to go to Dunedin, where my daughter and son in law, at present in Australia, have bought a house on about an acre of bush-covered land. We will help them plant some fruit trees, and some more native trees .
The photo is of Otago (Dunedin) Harbour ,where the Scottish settled .My daughter`s new home is in the centre of the photo ,on a hill over the far side of the harbour.
It was from here that Captain Robert F Scott left on his ill-fated expedition to the South Pole.

I could be out by a couple of hundred kilometers, but have you a chance to visit this garden? I wonder how far south of Dunedin it is. And a group of my friends have just bicycled the Taieri trail, the old railway which has been left and developed as a walking-cycling track. I know this is closer to your temporary 'home'. So, Dixie, if you get the slightest bit bored you could check out these two attractions!
Have heaps of fun planting the trees. What a fabulous place to have a garden!
