...and it's Merry Christmas from the website manager!20 Dec '04 4:27 am
It's been an interesting first year managing this site... I now fully understand just how many different roses can grow in one garden, how many times a plant can be shifted, and how any random animal can wander into Moosey's garden and be adopted, in exchange for a little gardening company - no matter what noises they make
I have yet to find a definitive online gardening encyclopaedia / dictionary, relying instead on googling our spelling, and if we come up first then I have to be suspicious...
Thanks to all who've given feedback on the site, some from people who've been reading Moosey's tales for much longer than I've been on the scene. I've also had some interesting feedback from newcomers, most memorably that "The site is such an intriguing contradiction, it's technically so slick yet the writers appear to be quite batty."
It's sad to see Taj-dog go - the end of a dog era. I'm looking forward to seeing the new generation of animals make their mark - will they respect the plantings? Will the kittens grow up to be good cat company? And will Rusty the puppy have a good nose for a path?
Here in London, we have learnt that the size of the memory card appears to be indirectly proportional to the content actually uploaded onto a website. We've kept 9 out of 10 indoor plants alive, but the roof terrace remains a plantless space, despite many a grand plan. And so instead, I've exercised my green fingers with a little festive cheer on our door (see below).
Merry Christmas and a Happy Gardening New Year to Moosey's Country Garden residents and visitors alike. May your gardens be healthy and your lifestyles allow you to enjoy them!

On the 15th day of Christmas...10 Jan '05 10:55 am
As the dust settles on the Christmas prezzies, here are some piccies of the decorations from our festivities.
We went through the usual will it / won't it fit senario as we chose the 10'6" tree - and the usual huge pangs of guilt as we sawed it down. Seems such a waste after all that growing... but it looked gorgeous
The birds have left the holly berries well alone this winter, so there was lots of festive foliage for the table decorations. The Viburnum Tinus was also in full bloom, bringing lots of pink to an otherwise very wintery garden.
Wishing you good luck for the New Year.
