8 Aug '07 5:29 pm hi Thanks to all your help and advice, we were able to finish the new garden. I have planted iceberg roses, 2 climbing New Dawn rose bushes, begonias, impatiens, alyssum, hibiscus, etc. We made squirrel slip and slide tree protectors and the 2 garden paths with malibu lights. I have attached pictures. Since I am not much of a gardener, I hope everything will grow. It has been a wonderful experience and I truly appreciate the suggestions from all of you experienced gardeners. Best to all of you-Joanne

Iceberg roses
9 Aug '07 1:52 pm The little pink and white plants under the tree are begonias. I have lined the paths with iceberg roses and alyssum on one side of each path and on the other side of each path is impatiens. Along the back are night blooming jasmines, hibiscus bushes and 2 climbing rose bushes at the arbor. This has been one area of the yard that I had not landscaped because of a squirrel problem. They would eat the pine cones and throw down pieces which blanketed the area. However, we have wrapped the tree trunks in slippery plastic so the squirrels are now dining elsewhere. Good-bye squirrels!!! thanks again -Joanne
