another of my cuttings has bloomed30 May '07 5:04 pm
Under a pile of leaves this spring I found pots with rose cuttings that I had forgotten about. Labels have been washing away - and in some cases I had no idea name of rose I was taking the cutting from.
This particular cutting is probably about 18 inches tall or maybe a little less. The cane is green and rigid. The thorns are resistant to being removed.
Leaflets appeart to be in 5s. The leaves are shiny, fairly thick and the serations are deep.
It does have a fairly strong scent that is nothing out of the ordinary.
The roses grow in singles and also in groups of at least 2. The open rose is a lighter pink that the bud. I don't know about hips, repeating, etc since it has just bloomed. The blooms are small - maybe and inch and a half - but there are at least 45 petals, making it a very *rufflely* rose.
There are details pix of every party of this rose here - and you do not have to register to see them or any of my public albums.

I hope you will take a look and maybe help me identify this little rose.

I am sorry I don't know the rose name. I would love it if you could give me directions on taking and growing a rose cutting. I have tried it a few times with advice from a book, no luck. Seeing as you have actually had success maybe your method would work for me, if it's not an imposition... |

Thank you so much for the information. I have tried a couple of times with the rooting hormone and nothing. I moved recently and had to leave several bushes that I loved, the little lady that lives there now is a sweetheart and a dear friend, so I am sure she will let me take cuttings. I am so excited, can't wait to try it. Thank you so much. |

Good luck with your cuttings. I've never had much luck growing cuttings in pots because I forget to water them. Oops.
I tend to bung them straight in the ground and hope for the best, but really my cuttings deserve better. |
