more dianthus - different kind - back yard

These are the dianthis I grow in my back yard - most of the colours aren't really true colours. For instance the red is more red than the scarlet they show up.

That is honesty growing with them. Does anyone have any idea why they didn't bloom? I transpanted them from a spot behind a neighbour's house were they were growing wild. That was 2006. They did well. The ones coming up this year are from the seed of those from last year. They are an early spring bloomer and here it is almost summer and they haven't bloomed. The ones growing wild across the stree thave already bloomed and put out their *money* seed pods.
