Daisies18 Aug '06 1:26 pm
Alas . The gentle Art of Poking Daisies may only be for a privileged few. I tried yesterday and today ,waiting patiently at my screen , but though there is a blank square at the bottom left ,there is no daisy to poke .I wonder if I should get Broadband ?
Dixie.

Daisy Poking18 Aug '06 10:48 pm
It seems that Pumpkin's Daisy Poking activities are not even available to those with broadband as I've got broadband and just tried to find a daisy to poke but can only see the blank box you mentioned, Dixie It's just not fair, is it?!?!

The weekend is over & not a lot done but ....10 Sep '06 8:45 pm
Well we have had a horrible wet weekend but I was determined to get on with some work on my project. In between showers I have planted some plants & seedlings, 2 carpet roses 1 pink 1 white, a red rose, white marguerite daisy and alyssum.
I have also scattered seeds of cornflower, Cosmos Daisy,
Linaria and two different wildflower mixes. Now I just have to wait and see what happens. (Fingers crossed). The Penstemons and other shrubs in this area are now all pruned ready for the spring growth.

I like your treatment of the birdbath. Your garden is really taking shape. I have an idea of adding a birdbath next year to our gardens, but we will see.
And so the flower list grows

Update3 Feb '07 9:46 am
I have taken some pics to show you what my walk through garden looks like now. I am a bit dissappointed with the wildflowers, as you can see they havent done well at all. I am waiting for autumn when I will put more plants in. Its too dry and hot at the moment
I have also attached a few more pics. The new bird feeder which is in its temporary position, I am gradually moving it away from the old one, the birds are slowly getting used to it. There are also some canna pics and lastly the latest project. The Potager Garden. We ran out of sleepers, but the idea is to have two more small gardens and a pergola (is that the right name) in the middle with white pebbles as the footpaths.
The white hoops you can see will hold grapevines and other fruits. The hoops are recycled from the old plastic house the previous owners had which sadly blew down. So much to do yet and lots to keep me busy in the future.

Beautiful3 Feb '07 10:11 am
I have been wondering how your garden is getting along ,as I think your first photos are simply beautiful ,and your plans last September ,interesting .You have achieved a wonderfully natural look - not contrived at all .I am SO Envious of your bird feeder ,as I have just had a plastic plate hanging from a string and would love a 'proper' one -Is yours a 'bought' one? and if so would you mind telling me where you got it from ,as I might hint for one as a present.
