BBC Radio 4 Gardeners Question Time19 Feb '04 9:30 am
I'm home sick today and am passing the time listening to BBC radio 4. (I'm 31 going on 61) A favourite radio 4 segment of mine is Gardeners Question Time with Pippa Greenwood, Bob Flowerdew and co.
I find gardeners question time a good mix of humour, information and advice and today was no exception - They had a small section on the use of horticultural terms on seed packets and plant labels and how misleading they are. Made me think of some of mooseys plants!
| Quote: | | "The horticultural equivalent of Real Estate Agents" |
Some of the terms they mentioned were :
Slow Growing : 'Gets too large'
Seeds Freely : 'Its a Weed!'
May become invasive : 'Overruns the garden cuckoo style...'
'Dwarf' Conifers, Slow Growth & May require experience...
Gardeners question time has a website at : http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/gqt/
and new episodes are available online every sunday I hope moosey's modem connection is good enough to hear bob flowerdew!
If you know of any other online radio gardening shows please let us know. |
